City Snow

In order to celebrate the recent flurry of snow, we decided to give one of our windows a winter theme. For the other, we decided to contrast with the cool tones of the snow by creating a warm, city theme.

Our snow themed window includes pictures by Graham Clarke and Dan Crisp. It also includes a selection of oil pastel and watercolour art materials that we sell - perfect for if you’re wanting to capture a snowy landscape before it fades away.

The city themed window includes pieces from Roger Fitzgerald, Nigel Cooke and Melvyn Evans, as well as a couple of monochrome prints featuring some of London’s most famous landmarks. We also have a couple of great books in there for if you’re wanting to improve your building drawing and painting skills.

The Countdown To Christmas!

Our new Christmas window shows just how festive we're all feeling here in the art shop! In our windows we have a great selection of gift ideas for that sneaky last minute Christmas shopping. Some of the items include: acrylic paint sets, brush sets, watercolour pencil sets, watercolour paint sets and paper pads. 

We also have a bunch of very popular Quentin Blake illustrations back in stock. They illustrate the classic novels by Roald Dahl, such as Matlida and The BFG, and are perfect gifts to give to someone you love this year! 

New Quentin Blake Prints and Sunshine!

Our latest arrival in store is something that people have been anticipating for a long time to be restocked, new printed illustrations of Roald Dahl's classic children's novels by Quentin Blake! Come and view them in our window today!

Additionally, we have some bold pieces from Nigel Cooke and Roger Fitzgerald in our window too. They are bright and colourful which will help keep the memories of summer alive during the murky Autumnal weather. 

Also, come and take a look at our new and improved shop layout: we opened up a large part of the store that seemed quite dark, but now lets in a lot of lovely natural light! 

Back to School

Our new window this week features prints from Fletcher Sibthorp's "Quiet Space" series, as well as a couple of pieces by Melvyn Evans.

We also have a special offer on our Daler Rowney Georgian Oil Paints - they have been reduced to only £3.25!

Also, in store we have some great pencil sets for anyone who's returning back to school soon and is looking for some snazzy and expressive stationery that will stand out from the crowd! Ranging from the "Depressed" pencil set to the "Storyteller" pencil set, you are bound to find a set that is perfect for you!

This Week in the Window!

This week's window incorporates on-trend tones of blue and gold, as well as scenes that celebrate nature as summer comes to a close. It features pieces from Sam Toft, Debbie Boon, Graeme Lothian and Melvyn Evans.

Christmas is just around the corner...

It's Bublé season here at the art shop, and with that we've been decorating, with 'Holly Jolly Christmas' playing on repeat getting us into that festive spirit we are now ready for the Christmas lights switch on this Friday 25th.
In our windows this week we have some exciting new pieces by Roger Fitzgerald that are included in his new book 'Buildings of London' presented in beautifully minimal white frames.

Olympic Games: Rio 2016

Can you believe 4 years have passed since the London Olympics?! Tonight Rio de Janeiro hosts the opening of the 2016 Olympic Games. To get into the sporting spirit we've recreated the Olympic rings using various art materials that can be found in the shop, including our freshly restocked Pebeo art materials.

Summer of Sport

Never mind the football, we have a spanking England rugby shirt signed by none other than England players Manu Tuilagi, Owen Farrell, Chris Robshaw and Mike Brown. This would be a superb addition to any fanatic's collection. We also have lots more sporting goodies including prints for sale in the gallery: rugby, cricket, football ...

Otherwise we're still in with a chance with the Tour de France and Wimbledon, so we're keeping our fingers crossed!

Artists who Lunch

Here at Sevenoaks Art Shop we are very excited to see the opening of 'Bills' just across the road so we thought we'd showcase some of our brightest and best art and prints for the viewing pleasure of those enjoying good food and great service over the road. 
We've had a recent restock of items from designers U Studios including gorgeous graphic notebooks along with a selection of bold and quirky occasion cards. 

May Window

May time brings long spring evenings, and warm days - time for a change and a new window exhibition. Juliet has put together a fresh collection of Mac McKeown's dreamy watercolours of Kent, Anthony Lawman's London paintings, Caroline Richmond prints of evocative seascapes and a superb Venetian limited edition.

Inspired to pick up a brush? We have just taken delivery of Winsor and Newton watercolour Sketchers Pocket Box ideal for painting in the sunshine.

We're getting ready for Easter, packing the window exhibition with spring-time feeling for the long weekend break. (We've also squeezed in an England rugby shirt in celebration of the recent Six Nations Rugby win!)

Featured Artist: Sam Toft

Featuring in the window this week is Sam Toft, whose prints feature her characters, Mr. Mustard, his dear lady wife Violet with an eccentric host of pets, friends and sheep. Working in Pastel, pencil and unusual mixed media techniques, she creates an idiosyncratic world that evokes trips to the seaside in nostalgic colours and inimitabe style. She has exhibited work at numerous solo shows in London and across the UK. We are exhibiting a number of limited edition signed prints in the upstairs gallery, alongside smaller prints and greetings cards in our shop.

Hello, March. New Window!

Treat your mum to a beautiful card this mothers day as displayed in our window! 
The girls worked hard on Saturday to brighten up our display just as spring approaches, with a fresh theme decking the windows out with vibrant floral landscapes and inspiring craft supplies for starting spring themed art projects.

Spring Window Exhibition

We have rearranged our collection on display in the windows with a nod towards the winter landscape, with striking tree-lined avenues in photographs and skilled atmospheric watercolours by Mac McKeown. With a view towards spring, we have charming original work by Any Shattock and delightful prints from Sam Toft on display. The exhibition continues in our upstairs gallery.
